Weekend top picks: Christmas Light Run, German Christmas Market, Red River Breeze concert

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – This weekend enjoy a 19th century Christmas, run alongside a beautiful display of holiday lights, enjoy a market filled with local vendors, watch a festive movie with the family, or listen to classic carols and tunes.

19th Century Christmas: Period refreshments, parlor games, re-enactors, eggnog, cakes, caroling, and goodie bags for you to take home. The event is at Fort Defiance Interpretive Center and Park, 120 Duncan Street on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 3-4:30 p.m. Tickets are $5.

Christmas Light Run:  The after-dark event along Christmas on the Cumberland raises funds for new light displays. Run alongside your friends and family at McGregor Park, 640 North Riverside Drive on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Entry is $15 plus.

German Christmas Market: Enjoy a German Christmas market at Christ Lutheran Church, 2425 Kirkwood Road on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 10-5 p.m. There will be homemade crafts, woodwork, baked goods, delicious food and live music.

Holiday Movies at the Roxy: Christmas Vacation:  Join the Roxy Regional Theatre, 100 Franklin Street on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 6 p.m. for a showing of “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.” Tickets are $5.

Red River Breeze Christmas concert:  Red River Breeze will present “A Merry Celtic Holiday!” traditional holiday tunes and carols with a Celtic flair at The Roxy Regional Theatre, 100 Franklin Street on Sunday Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. $20 for adults, $10 for 12 and under, with various discounts, online.

Holiday Hullabaloo: Join the Clarksville Montgomery Public Library, 350 Pageant Lane for their Holiday Hullabaloo event with songs, crafts, and fun for all ages! The event is on Saturday, Dec. 14 from 2 to 5 p.m.

Historic Collinsville Pioneer Christmas Parade: Historic Collinsville, 4711 Weakley Road is hosting a free “Pioneer Christmas Parade” on Saturday, Dec. 14, at noon! Bring your own chair or quilt to sit on while observing the parade. Come and support all of the parade participants and enjoy seeing the creativity of the parade entries along with Santa.
