CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Radical Mission Compassionate Ministries hosted the annual Warm Souls event at the Morgan University Center at Austin Peay State University on Saturday.

In its first year, the event began as a small gathering with only 100 attendees. Over the years, it has grown, serving hundreds of families and individuals in the Clarksville area. “This year, we planned our serving size to be about 850,” said Jon Vaughn, a member of the Warm Souls team. “We really try to institute something new every year.”

Among the many additions over the years, the “Bibles and Blessings” team is a group that was created in the past years that provides support by praying with guests and distributing Bibles. Another addition included a more personalized toy selection for children. “Not all boys want balls, and not all girls want dolls, so we created a way for kids to have a little bit of selection there. It’s all about choice and dignity with us,” Vaughn said.

“Whether you’re a volunteer or a guest at the event, we’re all the same people,” he said. “It’s about relationships and being able to build friendships.”

Aubrey Rios, a volunteer at the Warm Souls event, shared how much the event means to her family. “My family looks forward to this event every year,” she said. “It’s something that is such a blessing to us, but also a blessing to the community. It’s amazing to get together and just share Jesus’ love.”

This year’s event was made possible from over 350 volunteers helping the day of the event and another 200 helping with preparation. Vaughn expressed his thankfulness for the Clarksville community, “Clarksville is one of the best places to live. We all love each other and just need to come together.”
