Weekend top picks: Kiwanis Rodeo, Downtown @ Sundown, arena football, Week of the Eagles concert

Update, 11:30 a.m. Friday: Because of conditions at Division Parade Field and the threat of thunderstorms this evening, the concert and drone show has been moved to Saturday, May 18, at 6 p.m., according to Fort Campbell MWR.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – This weekend, put your cowboy boots on for the rodeo, enjoy free music at Downtown Commons, catch some arena football, or ride your tractor to help Camp Rainbow.
Kiwanis Rodeo: The 35th annual Bill Hoy Clarksville Kiwanis Rodeo, a PRCA ProRodeo Event, featuring steer wrestling, team roping, barrel racing, bull riding and more. The rodeo is Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 16-18, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets must be purchased online in advance, and they are $20 for adults, $15 for children ages 2-12. The event is at Montgomery County 4-H Arena, 1921 Rossview Road.
Week of the Eagles Concert: The celebration at Fort Campbell features a free concert with the 101st Army Rock Band, Annabel Whitledge and Jenny Teator, then closes with a lighted drone show. The free concert starts at 6 p.m. Friday, May 17, and is open to everyone. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Non-DoD ID card holders will need to enter post through Gate 7. You can get a visitor’s pass in advance online.
Downtown @ Sundown: Join Downtown Commons on Friday, May 17, at 7 p.m. to kick off its first Downtown @ Sundown concert with The Party Feels. The concert is free and will take place at the Downtown Commons, 215 Legion Street.
AFL: Nashville Kats vs. Georgia Force: As part of the Arena Football League’s (AFL) relaunch, the Nashville Kats are set to deliver a riveting season and showcase the sport’s return to Nashville. A special Kats game will take place at F&M Bank Arena, 101 Main St., for Armed Forces Day on Saturday, May 18, at 6 p.m. vs. the Georgia Force. Tickets start at $42.30 through Ticketmaster. Use code GOKATS for 15 percent off tickets.
Ray Ford Memorial Tractor Ride: Bring your own tractor for the ride and raise money for Camp Rainbow. Camp Rainbow is a non-profit that aims to help children whose serious illness prevent them from attending a summer camp like typical children. The ride is at Dotsonville Community Center, 3189 Dotsonville Road on Saturday, May 18 at 1 p.m. Suggested donations are $1 per mile.
